Impulse Heat Sealer Spares

Impulse heat sealers are sealers that only heat up when they are in use. These heaters don’t need to warm up over a long period of time but instead use impulses of electricity to quickly heat up and cool down, so bags can be sealed shut. The sealers are noted for their convenience, and the way that they operate means the chances of being burned when using them are minimal.

A Wider Range of Spare Parts

There are many different types of impulse sealer on the market, and these include hand sealers, foot sealers, sealers with cutters, double impulse sealers, and automatic sealers. In order to prolong the life of your impulse sealer and keep downtime to a minimum, it’s a good idea to invest in spares for your equipment.

Consumable and Wearable Spares

Consumable and wearable parts are items that are consumed or worn during the normal operation of the machine. Examples would be (but are not limited to) heating element wires, PTFE (Teflon) tape, silicone pressure pads, cutter blades, switches and fuses, these parts are not covered under warranty.

Teflon and PTFE Tape

Teflon is a brand that manufactures one of the most commonly-used types of PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) tape. Non-stick PTFE tapes are renowned for their ability to withstand extreme temperatures and feature a high-temperature resistant surface as well as a pressure-sensitive silicone adhesive. It is important to regularly check the condition of the PTFE protective tape and if the tape is burnt or appears black then it should be replaced immediately.

Teflon or PTFE tape is sold by PackSealer made in a variety of widths, including adhesive backed tape, to suit a range of applications.

Heating Elements Cutter Blades and Silicone Press Pads

Heat sealing heating elements may fail at any time, depending on the type of usage, but disruption can be avoided when you have replacement elements on site.  It is important to ensure you know the length and width of the element wire when ordering as well as the sealer model.  Cutter blades can become blunt during usage and need to be replaced to ensure a good clean cut.

Silicon rubber press pads apply pressure to bags, ensuring a smooth seal results. When the pads burn out, the seal’s quality can be compromised substantially.  It’s therefore wise to keep spare wires and press pads at your premises to avoid downtime and maintain high sealing standards.

Other Spares

At Packsealer, we also offer a wide range of spare parts to ensure your sealer remains in operation:

Fuses to suit a vast selection of heat sealers. Micro switches are also known as trigger switches and activate electrical currents, so the element can be heated. These switches can sometimes come out of alignment and need to be re-adjusted. Other items include electronic control boards, springs and sealer hardware.

Constant Heat Sealer Spares

Constant heat sealers require less maintenance as many of the parts on these sealers do not wear out so quickly.  Packsealer can of course supply spare parts for these types of machines too.
