"From strapping to void fill, one supplier for the whole dispatch line."
Optimax range. UK stock. Fast dispatch.
We stock strapping and wrapping equipment from Optimax: machines, hand tools, tensioners and materials. Alongside that, shrink wrapping systems, tape dispensers and void fill for dispatch operations.
Strapping equipment secures boxes, bundles and pallets for transit. We stock Optimax battery-powered strapping tools that handle 12mm and 16mm polypropylene and polyester strap without a compressor. That suits mobile operations and sites without fixed air lines. For higher throughput, semi-automatic and automatic strapping machines run continuous cycles at fixed packing stations.
Shrink wrapping uses heat to shrink film tightly around a product. We carry L-sealers, chamber systems and heat tunnels with the shrink film to go with them. For shrink wrapping, we carry L-sealers, chamber systems and heat tunnels.
Strapping materials include polypropylene strap for lighter loads and polyester strap for heavier or sharp-edged products. We also supply the strapping materials to go with the tools.
Tape, void fill and extras complete the dispatch setup. Paper void fill suits postal shipments. Air pillows protect fragile items. If you're setting up a packing station from scratch, we can spec a kit covering strapping, void fill and sealing for your bench.

What Our Customers Say
Real reviews from businesses across the UK
"They tested heat sealers on some sample bags I sent them to confirm suitability, even though the sale was relatively low value. Ultimately the unit I ended up purchasing was perfect for my needs."
SteveB Yell, 5/5
"What a superb company to deal with. Chris is so knowledgeable, nothing was too much trouble he had a solution for everything. I think every company needs a Chris."
Anne Mackinney Approved Business, 10/10
"I needed some parts delivering urgently. Chris dropped everything and got them on their way within the hour for next day delivery."

Strapping and wrapping FAQs
The questions we get asked most about strapping tools, machines and strap, answered straight. If yours isn't here, call and ask.
What's the difference between strapping and banding?
People use the words loosely, so here's the practical split. Strapping is the heavy-duty job: polypropylene or polyester strap tensioned around boxes, bundles and pallets to hold them for transit. Banding usually means lighter bundling, a narrow paper or plastic band around smaller or delicate items. Most of what we supply is strapping, the tools, machines and strap for securing loads. Tell us what you're securing and we'll point you at the right kit.
Polypropylene or polyester strap, which do I need?
Polypropylene (PP) is the everyday choice: economical, flexible, good for light to medium loads, cartons and bundling. Polyester (PET) is stronger and holds tension on heavy, rigid or sharp-edged loads where PP would snap or creep, so it's the one for palletised and export work. Match the strap to the load weight and edges. If you're unsure, send the load detail and we'll spec it. See strapping materials
Do I need a hand tool, a battery tool, or a strapping machine?
It comes down to how much you strap. A manual tensioner and sealer, or a combination tool, suits a few straps a day. A battery-powered friction-weld tool speeds up steady volumes without a compressor or a fixed station. A semi-automatic or automatic machine earns its place once you're strapping continuously at a bench. Send us your daily count and we'll size it. See strapping tools
What's the difference between a tensioner-and-sealer and a combination tool?
A separate tensioner and sealer is two tools: one pulls the strap tight, the other crimps a metal seal to hold it. A combination tool does both in one, tension and seal, which is quicker and means one tool to handle. Combination tools suit higher throughput; the separate setup is the low-cost entry. Both need the matching strap and seals.
What is a friction-weld (sealless) tool, and do I still need seals?
A friction-weld tool heat-welds the strap back on itself, so there are no metal seals to buy or fit. Our Optimax battery friction-weld tools handle 12mm and 16mm PP and PET strap and run off an 18V battery, with no compressor needed. Sealless means lower running cost and one less consumable to keep in stock. It's the usual choice for steady pallet strapping. See the battery friction-weld tool
What strap width and grade should I use for pallets?
For pallets and heavier loads, 12mm to 16mm polyester is the workhorse: it holds tension as the load settles and copes with sharp box edges. Lighter bundling can drop to 12mm polypropylene. The tool or machine you choose has to match the strap width, so pick the strap first, then the tool. Tell us the load and we'll confirm both.
Battery tool or semi-automatic machine, when does each pay off?
A battery tool keeps you mobile: strap a pallet wherever it stands, no fixed station. A semi-automatic machine is faster per strap once the work comes to a bench, and an automatic machine runs the cycle hands-free for high volume. Roughly, battery tools suit mixed or mobile work, bench machines suit a steady stream through one point. We'll work it out from your volume. See strapping machines
What else do I need to set up a packing bench?
Beyond strapping, most dispatch benches want tape and a dispenser for cartons, and void fill (paper or air pillows) to stop contents moving in transit. If you're kitting out a station from scratch, tell us what you're packing and we'll spec the strapping, tape and void fill together. See tape and dispensers
Do you stock strap, seals and spares, and is there UK support?
Yes. We keep PP and PET strap, seals and tool spares in stock, and we service and repair the tools we sell in our Solihull workshop. Strapping runs on a steady strap supply, so we keep it coming, and we're on the phone if a tool needs a part or a fix. Call 0121 704 0294.
