The PSF415DD is a 400mm constant heat sealer (also called a direct heat sealer) for materials that impulse sealers can't handle. If you're working with aluminium foil laminates, craft paper laminates, or cellophane, the continuously heated jaws deliver the penetration these materials need for a reliable seal. Polythene melts onto impulse jaws. Constant heat doesn't have that problem.
Both jaws heat to a preset temperature between 0 and 300 degrees C via an electronic controller, so the seal parameters stay consistent across a full shift. The 15mm seal width produces a wide, crimped bond that holds up on thicker laminated bags. Foot pedal operation at 800mm working height keeps both hands free for positioning.
One advantage over impulse sealers that gets overlooked: maintenance. There's no regular PTFE, element wire, or silicon to replace. Clean the jaws with a light wire brush when residue builds up. That's it.

Common questions
What materials can a constant heat sealer seal?
Constant heat sealers are designed for aluminium foil laminates, craft paper laminates, and cellophane. These materials need sustained heat penetration that impulse sealers can't provide. Standard polythene bags should not be used with constant heat sealers as the material can melt onto the jaws.
What is the difference between a constant heat sealer and an impulse sealer?
An impulse sealer heats only when the jaws close, using an element wire under PTFE tape. A constant heat sealer keeps both jaws at a preset temperature continuously. Constant heat gives better penetration through thicker, laminated materials but is not suitable for standard polythene.
Does a constant heat sealer need regular maintenance?
Much less than an impulse sealer. There are no element wires, PTFE strips, or silicon pads to replace. Clean the jaws periodically with a light wire brush to remove any residue buildup. That's the extent of routine maintenance.
What is the difference between the PSF415DD and PSF315DD?
Both are constant heat sealers with the same temperature range and jaw design. The PSF415DD has a 400mm seal length and 15mm seal width. The PSF315DD has a 300mm seal length and is slightly smaller overall. Choose based on the width of bags you need to seal.
How much does a 400mm constant heat sealer cost?
The PSF415DD is £399 ex VAT, supplied with stand, pedestal, and adjustable worktable. UK stock, dispatched from our Solihull warehouse, and with no element wires or PTFE to replace, the running cost after that is close to zero.
