The PSC980 is a 980mm continuous band sealer with a built-in ink printer, built for food production lines, warehouses and packers running hundreds of bags a shift. It ships horizontal with a vertical conversion kit included, so you can seal flat or upright from one machine.
The conveyor and sealing height adjust to different bag sizes. The hot ink printer prints up to 14 characters a bag, with a full set of letters and numbers supplied. It runs polythene, polypropylene, laminates, and cellophane at up to 300 degrees C.
A continuous band sealer is the step up when per-bag machines stop keeping pace. A foot sealer cycles one bag at a time; a band sealer machine runs bags through on a conveyor, one after another, while the operator just feeds the line. That is why the 980 sits in food production, contract packing, and warehouse operations where the bag count runs to hundreds a shift.

Straight answer on it: this is a small-volume tool. For short runs it does the job. It is not suitable for high-volume production printing, and it needs looking after: in regular use the print mechanism needs cleaning and maintenance pretty much daily. That is how it operates, not a fault, but you should know it before you order.
Send us your actual bags. We'll run them on this machine, print on them, and tell you what to expect with your film. Free, and you have the answer before you've spent anything.
If the code has to be right every time (an audit trail, a retailer spec, a regulated product), or you're printing hundreds of bags a shift, talk to us before you order. Printing you can guarantee at volume is a heavier machine and a different budget. We'd rather say that now than sell you this one twice.

Common questions
What is the difference between the PSC980 and PSC980Q?
The PSC980 seals and prints. The PSC980Q adds gas flushing (nitrogen fill) for modified atmosphere packaging. If your products need longer shelf life through oxygen displacement, the PSC980Q is the one. If you just need sealing and batch printing, the PSC980 does the job at a lower price.
Can this machine seal bags vertically?
Yes. A vertical conversion kit is included as standard. In vertical mode the maximum bag height is 300mm. Vertical operation suits powders, granules, and liquids that would spill if sealed flat.
How often do the Teflon belts need replacing?
It depends on throughput and materials. Most operations replace belts every few weeks to a few months. You'll know it's time when the belt looks worn or frayed, or starts leaving marks on the seal. We carry PSC980 belts in stock for fast dispatch.
What does the ink printer print?
Up to 14 characters per bag, hot-stamped as the bag passes through. A full set of letters and numbers is supplied, so batch codes, best-before dates, and lot references are all covered. Replacement ink rollers are stocked here. It suits small volumes; in regular use plan for daily cleaning of the print mechanism. Send us a sample before you buy and we'll show you what it does with your bags.
Will the ink printer keep up with my line?
The PSC980 itself runs hundreds of bags a shift without trouble. The printer is the part to check: it is built for small volumes, and in daily use the mechanism needs cleaning and maintenance most days. If you are printing at volume, or the code has to be right every time, tell us before you order and we'll point you at the machine built for that, even if it's not this one.
What bag materials can it run?
Polythene, polypropylene, laminates, and cellophane, with the seal temperature adjustable up to 300 degrees C to match the material. If you are unsure about your bag, send us a sample and we will run it on the machine. Free.
